Licores Barañano, Patxarán


Patxaran is a liqueur common in the Basque Country and Navarre. Comes from Basque from Pattar “liquor” and aran “sloe”.
Licores Barañano is a family run distillery located in Amurrio, Alava, It is the 4th generation producing traditional Patxaran. The founder, Jose Manuel Atxa Barañano started in 1831. He was the first craftsman in the family, who learned the art of alchemy.
All their products are elaborated artisanal with all the experience that they get through all the years of work. The Patxaran is made from sloe berries macerated with wild plums in anise.
