Product Description

Rufia Mencia is red wine made of Mencia grape variety. Located in Dao region, Portugal, 35 years old vines. Organic farming and respect for all the fauna and vegetation, no use of any pesticides or herbicides. Hand harvest in cases, in the winery destemmed and press, macerated for 8-10 days, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel, follow by the malolactic, no control of the temperature. With its lees for 9 months and left 9 months in old 400L barrels, no filtration, no clarification a bit of sulphites before bottling, total of 45mg/L. Soil is granite, schist, clay and marine sediments.
Tasting notes: It’s as bright as a button with lovely florality (violets and roses), fresh, crunchy red and black fruits and a salty minerality. Natural winemaking, low in alcohol.
