Product Description

Torre de Tavares red it is made by Joao Tavares in Dao region, Portugal. Grape is 100% rufete (the Iberian version of the French Trousseau). Vineyards were planted by Joao aiming at the recovery of the native grape varieties. The soil is granite, schist, and clay. Despite not certified, he farms organic using local plants to avoid diseases and protecting the vines. At the winery, the selected hand harvested grapes enter by gravity and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts, in inox tanks.
