Product Description
Serè is a dry wind that comes from the interior peninsula. This wind is ideal to get the best conditions of the vineyard because it prevents the development of fungal diseases ventilating them and drying them out. The label reflects the tribute to the elderly people, the ones who planted the varieties Garnatxa and Carignan that have been adapted very well in the Montsant region. Blend of 50% Garnatxa and 50% Carignan grapes, from 20-40 years old vines. The soil is clay that provides more concentration of flavors. Selection of grapes in the vineyard by manual harvest. At the winery, Garnatxa is vinified in September and Carignan in October, destemmed and contact with skins for 20 days with two pumping overs per day. Then Josep uses the vertical press and fermentation take place in inox without any temperature control. Transferred to 6 years old seasoned 225 French oak barrels for 5 months. Unfiltered, natural clarification and no sulphites added. Bottled July 2019. It shows sour cherry, spicy pepper, plums, hazelnuts. Well balanced medium-full bodied, lively and fresh aftertaste. Production limited to 800 bottles for Iberiandrinks.
