Product Description

Royal Ancestral is a sparkling wine made in the Ancestral methode. Local grape varieties; 90% Royal, 5% Bobal and 5% Tortosina, from two different parcels of 65-70 years old vines in bush. Soil is clay and chalk worked organically and following the lunar calendar. Hand harvested in small cases. Direct vertical press, 4 months on lees and degorged upon request. No addition of any additives in the winemaking process. Production of 850 bottles. Royal is a red local variety from Utiel-Requena that in the past was the third most production in the area, due to low extraction in colour and low yield production, cooperatives didn’t like it and they replanted with other varieties as Bobal and Tempranillo. Juan had recovered two old parcels, with total production of 800 bottles. Nowadays just three producers from the area are making wine with this Royal grape and producing no more than 1500 litres in total. Unique wine very versatile to drink as aperitive, matched with food or as a dessert wine.
